Douglas County Justice Center

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement and investigative and detentions functions in Douglas County, Colo. It has investigations, patrol, detention and support services divisions. The office s special investigations section is responsible for management of concealed weapons permits, sex offender registration and liquor licensing, as well as investigates auto thefts and multijurisdictional and gang-related crimes. The special investigations section handles home land security and intelligence systems and databases. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office also has a Special Weapons and Tactics team that handles high-risk warrant cases, dignitary protection, drug raids, fugitive apprehensions, and hostage and barricade situations. Its record section maintains sex offender lists, booking photos, and accident and criminal reports. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is located in Castle Rock, Colo.
