The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center is a nonprofit organization that works towards discovering and preserving the historic sites of the ancestral Pueblo Indians, also called the Anasazi. It undertakes various research and development projects that include both field excavation and laboratory analysis. It offers several educational travel programs for the study of native cultures, which are developed in consultation with American Indians. In addition, it provides campus-based education programs, distance learning and public outreach initiatives and provides resources for both students and teachers. It also publishes books, journals and magazines related to its educational philosophy, methods and materials. These publications are available online. Additionally, it organizes summer camps and workshops for children. Located in Cortez, Colo., it is licensed by the state.

My son just spent 3 wks here as part of the summer High School Field School and he came back brimming with things to tell us that he'd learned and seen. I'd already assumed he was busy and content...
