The Town of Cokedale is a charming former mining camp located in the picturesque foothills of the Sangre DeCristo Mountains, just eight miles west of Trinidad, Colorado. Established as a model mining community, it offered miners and their families modern conveniences such as electricity and indoor plumbing, and was incorporated in 1948 after the mining operations ceased in 1947.

With a population of approximately 150 residents, Cokedale boasts many of its original structures, which earned the town National Historic District Status in 1985. Visitors can explore the quaint area, which features a Mining Museum, a volunteer fire department, and a beautifully maintained park at its center.
