HistoryThe Spine Center is a part of Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group which was established by its founding fathers--George Merkert, MD; Robert Carlton, MD; and James O'Donnell, MD--in the mid-1950s. In 1994, the practice expanded and officially changed its name to Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group after merging three local orthopaedic practices.SpecialtiesAll of our Spine Center physicians are fellowship-trained and exclusively treat spine conditions. They understand the intricacies of the spine and are dedicated to providing quality and state-of-the-art care for a wide range of conditions involving the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Our services range from treating simple conditions such as herniated discs and low back or neck pain, to more complex problems such as spinal tumors, scoliosis, and spine fractures.
