The Body Shop is one of those places that's tough for me to review because I both love it and hate it simultaneously. Falling back on the ol' trusty 3 stars seems somehow wrong, but I guess...

History
beat book shop opened on Pearl Street very early in 1990 and has been open selling books & records ever since, open afternoons, evenings & nights except major holidays, closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. We have sponsored a poetry reading every Monday at 8pm since 3 years before we opened our doors, every week since May 1987 featuring the best and most well known poets in the world as well as over 6,900 different people reading for the first time, we have had 1420 consecutive Monday nights as of December 2014.
