History
The Barnett's history in the ski industry begins in Aspen with local shops named Aspen Sports. Throughout the next few years 18 shops throughout Colorado came about, known as Base Mountain Sports. In 1998 the owner, Brett Barnett, sold his company. After 5 years out of the Rocky Mountains Brett returned in 2003 to begin building ski rental and retail shops in Colorado again. The company has expanded since 2003 with help from locations in Crested Butte, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Avon, Vail, and Silverthorne. These locations, Butte & Co., Base Mountain Sports, and Virgin Island Ski Rentals, vary by name in order to keep their local feel. The aforementioned history all adds to the idea of R&R Sports Colorado being 'locally owned and operated for over 25 years!
