Aim For the Stars Tutoring

History

Aim for the Stars Tutoring began out of a need of students in the Douglas County School District. As a result of the recession, DCSD started facing budget cuts and restrictions. Students were the ones most impacted by this. Class sizes began to grow rapidly and programs were being cut all over the district. To help mitigate these issues, at-home, one-on-one tutoring by Aim for the Stars Tutoring began. Many students in our district were falling through the cracks. When you have a coach/mentor/tutor on your child's side, guiding and navigating him/her through this academic maze, success is almost guaranteed. Even, now, years after Aim for the Stars Tutoring began, Douglas County School District is still facing budget cuts, growing class sizes, and cuts to programs. The need for private tutoring is just as great now as it ever has been.

Specialties

We tutor students in grades K-12, in all subjects. Tutoring occurs in the child's home, their comfortable environment, which helps students achieve success. All tutors are professional with extensive background checking. We specialize in helping students in math and science. We also love helping children who have special needs. We have worked with children who have ADD, ADHD, Down syndrome, Autism, and many other disabilities. We provide programs for students who are gifted and talented to challenge and engage them in advanced curriculum. We also provide summer tutoring programs. Summer tutoring is a great way for a child who struggled the previous school year to catch up or to even get ahead in certain subjects. Students thrive in this one-on-one environment. A tutor becomes more like a coach or mentor to help the students learn, achieve, and gain more confidence.
