Coastal Youth Orchestra

Closed

The Coastal Youth Orchestra, founded in 2002 and directed by Nancy Roderick, offers string students of all levels the opportunity to play in a group with other young musicians and explore quality repertoire. Comprised of two ensembles, the youth orchestra provides a platform for students to showcase their talents and perform two concerts a year, while also engaging in outreach activities. With rehearsals now held at Bowdoin College's Studzinski Recital Hall, the orchestra has the privilege of having Bowdoin students join in rehearsals and mentor their own students.

At the upcoming Spring Concert on May 9th, the Coastal Youth Orchestra will present a diverse selection of music, featuring performances by both the Fiddleheads, the orchestra's youngest group, and the more advanced Coastal String Ensemble. Auditions for the 2019-2020 ensemble will also be held on June 4th, offering aspiring musicians the chance to join this esteemed orchestra.
