The Mad River Fish Hatchery, located in Arcata, CA, is a crucial facility specializing in the rearing of steelhead trout. Surrounded by the natural beauty of redwoods, mountains, and beaches, it provides ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as fishing, picnicking, and river viewing.

Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of the hatchery, while larger groups can arrange guided visits ahead of time. The facility not only supports local fisheries but also serves as an educational resource about fish species and conservation efforts.
