History
The Yemaya Salsa Dance Company was founded by Emelie Andagan & Heather Wong-Xoquic in October, 2000. Emelie learned to dance salsa after only a few short years all due to her extensive dance training with over 20 years of dance teaching experience and many years of experience as a ballet and jazz student, and later a teacher at the Ballet Theatre of Dover Dance Conservatory. The company started as a small group of only four couples that rehearsed weekly in various garages and practically anywhere with a smooth surface. Our company has grown ever since and has been entertaining audiences in the Sacramento area community and beyond, thanks to the support of many of our patrons, friends and family. Thank you to all who are part of or have been a part of the Yemaya Salsa Dance Company and continue to support us. It is our mission to promote and educate through dance and to share our passion with the community.

Love the studio! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. They offer a variety of classes for all levels. The studio is clean, and there's plenty of parking spaces.
