Ya-Ka-Ama Native Plants & Store, meaning "Our Land" in the Pomo language, is a non-profit organization established in 1971. Nestled in a serene rural setting on 127 acres of agricultural land in Western Sonoma County, California, it is located just six miles west of Santa Rosa and 70 miles north of San Francisco. The picturesque property is bordered by the Russian River, Lake Benoist, and the Santa Rosa Junior College, Shone Farm.

This enchanting land, locally known as "The Land," boasts a diverse ecosystem featuring redwood forests, oak woodlands, and lush grasslands where over two hundred varieties of native plants flourish. Ya-Ka-Ama's mission is to promote traditional Native culture and values, empower Native communities, and enhance educational opportunities for American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.

Guided by a dedicated Board of Directors comprising nine Native Americans from Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, and Marin Counties, Ya-Ka-Ama is committed to effective governance and community representation. The Board convenes monthly to oversee the organization's operations and ensure that it remains a vital resource for the Native community it serves.
