Dr. Alyssa Burgart is a unique figure in the fields of pediatric anesthesiology and bioethics, with double board certification in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology and over 20 years of experience in bioethics. Her role as a clinical associate professor at Stanford University in Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine, and by courtesy in Pediatrics, underscores her interdisciplinary approach. This is further evidenced by her affiliation with the Stanford Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in the School of Humanities and Sciences.Dr.

Dr. John is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist with more than 25 years of experience. He is a clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He diagnoses and manages all forms of cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias. His special interests include catheter ablation for SVT, atrial arrhythmias, ventricular arrhythmias, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, and lead extraction. Dr. John has conducted extensive research. He has participated in large multi-center clinical trials, including over 30 studies as a primary investigator of drugs, devices, and ablation techniques. I completed my training at Stanford University with an Anesthesiology residency in 2003 and Obstetrical Anesthesia fellowship in 2004. I worked in a general private practice for two years at a community hospital in Colorado and was involved in creating protocols for OB related concerns such as non-obstetric surgery during pregnancy and skin to skin contact in the OR during cesarean delivery. I then returned to academic practice and worked for eight years at the University of Colorado and the Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health. I have collaborated extensively with the Stanford Anesthesia Informatics and Media Lab to create innovative educational tools.
