With a focus on enhancing scenic beauty and recreation in the community, WLMA is governed by a board of 33 volunteer representatives elected by homeowners and commercial developments surrounding the lake.
Offering boating and fishing opportunities for homeowners, Westlake Yacht Club members, and residents of the Westlake Community, the lake is a hub of activity. The rich history of Westlake dates back to the 1960s when it was purchased by D.K. Ludwig, an oil tanker and shipping magnate, who foresaw its potential for development. Today, WLMA continues to prioritize the integrity of the dam, scenic beauty, safety, ecology, and recreation for its members.
