West Sacramento Historical Society
The West Sacramento Historical Society, established in 1993 by Bryan Turner and the late Virginia Seaman, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of West Sacramento. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, it has been actively collecting historical items and promoting local history through various exhibitions since its incorporation in 1994.
In 2005, the Society opened the first museum in West Sacramento, followed by the establishment of the History Gallery in 2011, which features both permanent and temporary displays. The organization continues to collect and interpret the history of the community, showcasing a diverse inventory that includes artifacts, photographs, and oral histories related to West Sacramento's past.
