West Sacramento Historical

The West Sacramento Historical Society, established in 1993, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of West Sacramento through various initiatives, including the collection of historical artifacts and the promotion of local history via traveling exhibitions. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Society opened the first museum in West Sacramento in 2005 and currently operates the History Gallery within the West Sacramento Community Center, showcasing both permanent and temporary displays.

With an extensive inventory that includes original community fire apparatus, photographs, documents, and oral history interviews, the Society connects the stories of early pioneers and first families to the present day.
