West Entry Parking Structure
Parking Structure in Davis, CA is a well-known and iconic parking garage located just outside of the Memorial Union's Unitrans area. It was the first parking structure on campus, opening in 1992, and is known for its unique architecture resembling the Death Star, cool stairs, and cube art sculptures. The structure offers a great view from the roof, making it a popular spot to watch fireworks on the 4th of July.
Initially designed to glow green at night, the parking structure now glows yellow due to the replacement of its light bulbs. While it does not have the capacity for additional levels like the later parking structures, it remains a popular choice for parking on campus. Visitors may occasionally hear the sound of tires screeching as people perform doughnuts on the top floor, adding a touch of excitement to the experience.
