Dr. Warren A. Chow is a board-certified UCI Health oncologist who specializes in melanoma and sarcomas. He serves as associate director for clinical services at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Ill. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Next he received fellowship training in medical oncology, hematology and bone marrow transplantation at the City of Hope in Duarte, Calif., where he served nearly 30 years as a clinician and researcher conducting bench-to-bedside studies in both bone and soft-tissue sarcomas. The recipient of numerous research grants from the National Cancer Institute, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Melanoma Research Foundation and many others, Chow has been the principal investigator on more than three dozen clinical trials. He is the author of more than 80 publications and four book chapters, and he serves on the editorial boards of the journals PLOS ONE, F1000 Research and Scientific Reports (Nature).

Lavasani, who is also fluent in Farsi, is passionate about preventing breast cancer and has served as vice chair of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network's committee on breast cancer prevention.
