Warm House Montessori School

History

Warm House Montessori School is a privately licensed Montessori preschool located in the SF Mission District.The school opened its doors in December of 2004 after relocating from the Forest Hill Montessori School (1998, 2002-2004) and the Ocean View Montessori School (1999-2002). The desire to provide a Montessori preschool in the Mission District fueled the return to my family home and with the encouragement of many mentors collective measures took place to realize this goal. Warm House Montessori School has evolved through the years and it currently serves students ages 3 to 5 years. The school philosophy remains consistent, as the programming successfully balances elements of fluency and structure within a diverse child-centered environment. The school directress works closely with families and community members to ensure facilitation, guidance and advocacy. Giving back is a rewarding experience for adults and youth alike!

Warm House Montessori School celebrates your child's natural abilities. The curriculum encourages hands-on experiences, fosters spontaneous discovery, and values all aspects of a child's learning style. It awakens an appreciation for foreign culture and incorporates the enchanting gifts of Spanish and the Latin American culture ~ its music, dance, art, food, geography, folklore, traditions, and diversity. The school provides an intimate setting with a capacity of 6-8 students per day, allowing for focused attention and guidance. Other important aspects of the programming include early language and literacy supports, indoor and outdoor play, field trips, outings, events, aesthetics, and an excellent teacher-to-student ratio. Creative expression is woven into the school's daily learning practices, as it continuously serves to build our students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
