Walker Foods was the first company to produce salsa in the United States. In addition to being the first to produce salsa in the United States, Walker Foods is also the first American salsa to be exported to Mexico and the first and largest user of Cascabel chiles in the world. Walker Foods has expanded its distribution from the Pacific States to include the greater Southwest and Midwest. The company markets its salsa under the El Pato brand. The salsa is used on beef, chicken or omelets and is also certified Kosher. The company is located in Los Angeles, Calif. and was founded in 1914.
