The Municipal Utilities Department offers a variety of electric, water, sanitary and sewer installation solutions and services. It provides a variety of services that include water production and water distribution administration and operation. Its other services include wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal administration and operation. The department also offers a wide range of services that include solid waste and recycling collection, disposal administration and operation, citrus grove operation and airport administration. The Municipal Utilities Department specializes in four major support functions, including engineering, geographic information systems, regulatory compliance, and customer service and utility billing. The department has more than 140 authorized full- and part-time employees. It is administered by the city of Redlands, Calif.
