History

My own hair removal journey has been long and difficult. I actually started with a full round of laser, before I even began my own transition in earnest. I suffered through over a year of painful, time consuming and expensive hair removal efforts, and found myself still wanting more. It was at this point that I first pursued electrolysis, though my first experience with it however, was excruciatingly painful, and didn't seem to even be producing very significant results. Ultimately, my frustrations at the apparent limitations of Electrolysis ultimately led to my decision to enroll in school for Electrolysis myself. After graduating in 2022 I finally filed all the paperwork and VoltaLux Electrology was founded in the best city in the world Oakland CA.

Specializing in gender affirming and accessible permanent hair removal. I take pride in my gentle and holistic approach to hair removal. I know from personal experience how frightening and intimidating electrolysis is, as well as how cost-prohibitive it is for many people. I also, know from personal however, just how life-changingly impactful it can be on your self image and overall quality of life. I make it a goal to work with my clients, to try and work through these struggles.
