Vipul Sheth, MD, PhD

Dr. Steffner specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors in pediatric and adult patients. This includes primary bone and soft tissue sarcomas, locally active conditions such as giant cell tumor, aneurysmal bone cyst, and chondroblastoma, as well as impending and pathologic fractures from metastatic carcinoma, multiple myeloma, and lymphoma. He works closely with the multidisciplinary sarcoma group at the Stanford Cancer Center to provide coordinated, highly specialized treatment strategies.

Dr. Poullos is a native of Stockton California. He earned his B.S. at Santa Clara University and M.D. degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, after which he did an Internal Medicine residency at the University of California-San Francisco, finishing in 2002. He stayed at UCSF as a Gastroenterology fellow until 2004. However, after a spinal cord injury, he decided to retrain in Radiology. He did his Radiology residency at Stanford University, where he also completed a fellowship In Body Imaging in 2009. Dr. Poullos is now faculty in both the departments of Radiology and Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr. Loening is both a clinical radiologist and an active research focused on expanding the capability of MR and PET/MR as it relates to imaging of organs in the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Clinical research aims include the application of new or improved MR sequences and reconstruction mechanisms to increase the speed, robustness, and diagnostic capability of body MR protocols, and combining PET molecular imaging agents with MRI to improve the diagnostic power of clinical imaging. Translation research aims include exploring new MR contrast mechanisms and contrast agents, such as for the stratification of cancer within the prostate and the identification of metastatic disease involvement of lymph nodes.
