The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks oversees a diverse range of facilities and services aimed at enhancing community well-being, including parks, recreation centers, swimming pools, and dog parks. Established as a Department of Parks in the city's first Freeholder Charter of 1889, it maintains spaces originally designated for public use under the Spanish land grants.
Vineyard Recreation Center, located at Burns Robert L. Park, is among the many facilities offering children's play areas and picnic tables, fostering an environment for community interaction and recreation. The department values community feedback and continuously strives to improve its services to better meet the needs of Los Angeles residents.
