Ventura High School, established in 1889, is a learning center that serves students in grades 9 through 12. It is governed by the Ventura Unified School District. Located in Ventura, Calif., the school provides education in biology, chemistry, algebra and social studies. It conducts classes in keyboarding, computer networking, automotive repair and home economics. The school offers a range of extracurricular activities, such as physical education, dance, music, drama, and visual and performing arts. Ventura High School supports a variety of sports activities that includes cross country, football, golf, tennis, volleyball, water polo, basketball, wrestling, baseball, golf, softball, and track and field. The school also operates a parent-teacher-student association that sponsors award nights and several academic and social events. In addition, Ventura High School provides guidance counseling and health care services.
