History

Ventura Counseling Center (VCC) is an outreach ministry of Ventura Missionary Church and has been in existence for over 37 years. The center began in 1977 out of a need to assist the Senior Pastor and Pastoral staff with their counseling load. It has become an excellent psychotherapy practice due in large part to the support we receive from VMC as well as the medical community who believe in our work.

Specialties

Last year more than 500 individuals, couples, and families received help on a monthly basis. Our constant goal is to be a source of hope, help, and healing by offering excellent, yet affordable, professional services to all those who come through our door. We are grateful for the partnership of Ventura Missionary Church, other local churches, and the medical and social services communities for their ongoing faith in our work.

Family Service Agency

Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara is a nonprofit human service agency that helps youth, individuals, couples and seniors in dealing with various problems, including basic necessities, family violence, isolation, depression or threat of suicide, marital problems, parenting difficulties and children who are at risk. It offers family and children program that includes child guidance, family and individual counseling, family build project, school-based counseling and health programs. It also offers senior programs, such as services aimed at independent living, safe points, community outreach and homemaker program. Additionally, it offers resource and referral programs, including volunteers in action. It works in association with the Santa Barbara County Early Childhood Mental Health Collaborative, United Way of Santa Barbara County and Alliance for Children and Families.
