about_us Van's Cabinet Shop opened its doors in Sonora by Marian Van Velduizen in 1971 across the street from Rubes Restaurant. Van moved into its current location in 1977. The cabinet shop was purchased by David Fickel in 1982 at which time David expanded to include Pre-Hung doors as well as the custom cabinets which we have become so well known for throughout the years. The business is now a partnership between David Fickel and long time employee David Guzman. The cabinet shop is primarily overseen by David Fickel with his 22 years in the business and managed by Ron Loewen along with his 30 years in the trade. The door shop is overseen by David Guzman with his 29 years of expertise in the door industry. We employ in average 15 people between the two shop's, and have recently expanded our space to include a beautiful showroom featuring Interior and Exterior doors as well as many different types, styles, and finishes of door hardware, hinges, and cabinetry knobs. We also showcase a wide variety of baseboards, casings, and moldings. All of our cabinets are completely custom handcrafted the old fashion way and completely done within our shop.
