Valencia Water Company serves approximately 94,000 people in the Santa Clarita Valley, including Valencia and Stevenson Ranch, as well as portions of Newhall, Saugus and Castaic, Calif. The company s customer base is mostly residential, but it also provides water for commercial, industrial, public authority and irrigation customers. It supplies a mix of half groundwater pumped from wells and half imported state water, which is purchased from Castaic Lake Water Agency. The groundwater is pumped from the shallow Alluvial Aquifer and the underlying Saugus Formation. The company is regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission, a state agency charged with oversight of investor-owned utilities in California. Valencia Water Company maintains its head offices in Valencia, Calif.
