Valencia Canine Rehabilitation Center

History

Valencia Canine Rehabilitation Center opened its doors in January 2015 as the first rehabilitation practice dedicated to animal rehabilitation in the Santa Clarita Valley. Dr. Kimberly Caruso and Dr. Baljit Grewal have joined forces in this endeavor; each saw the need for such a practice in the area. Their experience allowed them to see many orthopedic cases that had complications, such as delayed use of the limb, muscle atrophy, prolonged pain and delayed union of fractures. These symptoms would have likely been minimized if the patients were able to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program post-operatively. Physical therapy is utilized by human patients as standard protocol, and this type of therapy needs to be more available to our companion animals when they experience an injury or surgery, as well as for owners interested in preventative medicine.
