Optometrist, Dr. Schultz and his wife Laurie opened Urban Optics Optometric Center 20 years ago in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Their current location projects a gallery like image and is the perfect setting to display their exclusive selection of unique eyewear. The custom interior, which has won architectural awards and appeared in national publications, is home to frame collections such as Oliver Peoples,, L.A. Eyeworks, Chrome Hearts, Alain Mikli, and more. Dr. Schultz has dedicated his Optometric practice to exclusive eyewear and contact lenses for 29 years. During that time he was named Young Optometrist of the Year by the California Optometric Association, and served as a contact lens clinical investigator. He has also served as President of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society and has received national recognition as Optometrist of the Year by Eyecare Business Magazine. Most recently the Santa Barbara Independent named Dr. Schultz best Optometrist for three consecutive years and New Times Weekly recognized Urban Optics for "Best Eyewear" in San Luis Obispo County..
