The University of California Los Angeles was founded in 1919 and moved to Westwood a decade later. Today the 419-acre campus serves nearly 40,000 students in 118 undergraduate and 200 graduate majors. The UCLA Library ranks among the top 10 in U.S., with 8.2 million volumes. Its mascot is Joe Bruin. The school's colors are blue and gold.
