With store locations in San Anselmo and San Rafael, Calif., United Markets has been operational for more than 50 years. It maintains a nursery that carries over 1,000 varieties of different species of plants, such as indoor and bedding plants, annuals, perennials, vegetables, ground covers and trees. The nursery also has nearly 500 types of gardening supplies, including fertilizers, barks and insecticides, gloves, pots and gardening tools. United Markets also has a grocery department that stocks a variety of brand items, as well as locally produced specialty items that include international flavors, organic products, household items, and health and beauty care products. It additionally operates bakery, deli, meat and seafood, produce, sushi and wine departments.

What is with all of the pet dogs shopping with their owners? I ran in to get a few items on Saturday afternoon and there were three (3) dogs--not one a service dog--wondering through the store....
