History

University Book Exchange (UBE) bookstore is a family owned business since 1991. The owner John came up with the concept while teaching at CSUSB. He saw there was a need for an off campus bookstore with the raising textbook prices. His plan was simple, offer the same product but at a much lower price. John was both a professor at CSUSB and starting a new business from the ground up UBE with the help of his wife. Together they were able to grow the UBE bookstore from CSUSB into multiple locations in Southern California. This includes the off campus bookstore to UCR. The owner's motto has pretty much been to help out students with the increasing costs of education. After all, he was once a struggling college student himself turned business man.

Specialties

Our bookstore business UBE, specializes in providing lower cost textbooks to college students. We service many schools like UCR and CSUSB... and have many titles of used books as well as new. UBE is usually cheaper than on campus bookstores. We buy back books all year round. You don't have to be a student. We give everyone the opportunity to sell back their books.
