Founded in 1974, Community Violence Solutions is one of the oldest rape crisis management centers in the United States. The organization is a nonprofit agency that provides support services for children and adult victims of sexual assault. Located in San Pablo, Calif., it operates the Rape Crisis Center, which conducts training sessions for volunteers to become certified sexual assault counselors. The Rape Crisis Center also conducts training for law enforcement personnel and health care providers. Community Violence Solutions also operates the Stepping Stones Counseling Center, which provides treatment for more than 400 individuals every year. The Stepping Stones Counseling Center offers parenting education, family empowerment and case management services. Community Violence Solutions operates a center that provides services for children who are sexually abused. In addition, it offers child forensic interviewing, nonacute medical examination and advocacy services.

Founded in 1977, Eden Youth and Family Center Inc. offer an array of services and advocacy programs for children, youth and families of Hayward, Eden Youth and Family Center. Based in Hayward, Calif., it has a day care center, computer clubhouse and gang/drug related tattoo removal program. The center also provides services, such as emergency food, clothing, counseling and referrals for families. It is also engaged in rendering pediatric and dental care for children, education programs for junior and senior high school students, job training and placement services, legal and other referrals through its member agencies.
