From the website:Kathryn A. Gold, MD, is a board -certified medical oncologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers of the lung, head and neck. She uses numerous forms of therapy such as chemotherapy, biological therapy and targeted therapy to offer the best possible treatment options for her patients. As an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Gold instructs medical students, residents and fellows and UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her clinical and translational research interests include lung and head and neck cancer, with a focus on targeted therapies and immunotherapies. She has presented her work at both national and international medical conferences. Dr. Gold has coauthored many articles, and her research has appeared in The Lancet Oncology , the Journal of the National Cancer Institute , and The New England Journal of Medicine , among others. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Gold was an assistant professor in the Department of Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
