The Unity Council

Founded in 1964, Unity Council is a nonprofit community development corporation that serves various families. It implements and manages a variety of integrated programs addressing economic, social, and physical development. The corporation also offers home-based services to pregnant mothers, newborns and preschoolers. It additionally features a multi-cultural career center that specializes in Spanish, Laotian, Mien, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and English languages. Unity Council provides business and home ownership assistance. It also operates various communities that organize events. The corporation additionally provides after school recreational opportunities and youth programs. Unity Council maintains a location in Oakland, Calif.
