The Storybook School

The Storybook School, established in 2016, is a private program catering to children aged 2 to 5 in San Francisco's Sunset/Parkside district. With a bilingual environment offering Mandarin or Cantonese learning opportunities, the school operates from 7:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. on weekdays, excluding holidays and staff in-service days.

Co-founded by Marianne and Jacquelyn, The Storybook School emerged from their shared passion for child development and language acquisition. The school's inception stemmed from their mutual admiration for Magda Gerber’s RIE principles and a desire to create a nurturing educational space. After years of planning, the school opened its doors in 2017, marking the beginning of a journey enriched by the stories of its teachers, children, and families.

Marianne, a seasoned educator with a background in human development and English language teaching, collaborates with Jacquelyn, whose expertise in early childhood education and administration has shaped the school's unique blend of Chinese and American teaching philosophies.
