HistoryI started ArtEffects with two partners, a bookbinder and a photographer. Since 1989, I have been the sole owner. I love old lighting and started my business by selling the work I created. Soon, people were asking for custom work and I have been creating custom work ever since. However, lately, I am doing more of my own creations. I have 35 years worth of lampshade materials and lamps and I want to start creating unusual projects for sale.SpecialtiesArtEffects Gallery is the home of lampshade designer, Kathleen Gail McCarthy. The shop is full of antique and vintage lamps and the raw materials to make any kind of lampshade. Custom work is her speciality. An amazing collection of unusual and original textiles, fabrics, trims, finials, and antique lamp parts are everywhere. The walls also sport art and paintings for sale.
