Opened as Wagner's Beer Hall on October 8th 1861, and was saved from burning down by a bucket brigade after the 1906 earthquake.

Performer (at 8pm) demanded my group be kicked out because we didn't "tip him enough" when he shoved his tip jar in our faces and demanded a tip at the cash only bar where we used all our cash....

Great little cash-only dive bar with Live Music. One drink minimum is a small price to pay for free [good] live music!!
