The Julian Historical Society, incorporated in 1963, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Julian, California, for future generations. The organization has successfully restored significant local landmarks, including the Washington Mine, which was the first hard rock gold mine in the area, and the Witch Creek Schoolhouse, which now serves as its headquarters. In addition to managing historical sites, the Society has undertaken extensive restoration projects, including the iconic 1912 Mack Stage and a 1924 Cadillac bus, showcasing the area's transportation heritage.
