The Refinery

History

The Refinery opened in 2015. Julissa left her position as the lead esthetician for a local Monterey plastic surgeon office to open her own esthetics and beauty studio. 3 months after opening The Refinery relocated to Old Town Salinas its reputatiospecialize in eyebrows. Symmetry cosmetics was created by Julissa in 2016 to provide her clients with an exclusive eyebrow cosmetic line that would help her clients achieve the brows she created at home. As a second option for her clients that were less inclined to makeup, she as well began her training in Los Angeles with celebrity brow artist Lucy Hart. Julissa added Microblading and Semi Permanent cosmetics as an additional service to her eyebrow menu in late 2016. She and The Refinery became licensed by the Health Department of Monterey county. In the past 3 years Julissa has taken over 100 additional hours of training in microblading to become a certified instructor as well as certified in tattoo removal to help her clients.
