The Performing Arts Workshop
The Performing Arts Workshop is a Bay Area BIPOC-led nonprofit organization established in 1965, aimed at equalizing access to arts and arts education for young people. Through their various programs, they help students cultivate critical thinking, creative expression, socio-emotional learning, media literacy, and essential life skills.
Engaging over 2,000 students across Title I schools, transitional housing facilities, juvenile halls, and after-school programs, the Workshop employs Teaching Artists to facilitate diverse art forms including music, dance, writing, and visual arts. Their Geneva Powerhouse serves as a cultural hub, offering youth art programs and event rentals that support community accessibility and foster artistic growth.
