The Merry Woods

History

Orginally built in 1910 as a Gentleman's Club, it has been a successful restaurant for years because of it's elegant setting and convenient location between Tahoe and Sacramento or the Bay Area. Until recently, it was a German Restaurant, then in 2010 it was purchased by the current owner who renovated the old gal but attempted to keep it's rustic charm. We think we exceeded our expectations and that you will be pleasantly surprised with our food, service, and ambiance!

Specialties

We are a family run restaurant that believes in quality! We use only the freshest ingredients to make specialties like our homemade meatloaf, mac & cheese or pork belly sweet potato hash! We buy the highest quality USDA premium meat, wild caught salmon and organic chicken. Comfort food in a rustic setting overlooking the American River right on Highway 50.
