Napa Valley interior designer Melissa Schmitt was tired of traveling all the way to San Francisco to source beautiful, high quality furniture and decor for her clients. She wanted Napa home owners to have better options, so she set out to create Napa Valley's own Design Center with a wide range of furniture, gift, home decor, and lifestyle items. Her sharp eye for design and impeccable taste has given Napa Valley the quality and variety of home design items it deserves. In 2018 Poor House was renamed The Home Index Napa Valley's design resource and ultimate destination for beautiful thoughtful home furnishings, including furniture, designer fabrics, and wallpapers, lighting, rugs and textiles, unique gifts, design services and more. Creating a place where individuals, home owners, designers, and architects have access to an extensive index of furnishings, finishes, and inspiration. The midtown Napa location is a complete community resource for interior design.
