The Great Escape Food & Spirits is a great escape from the city for the whole family just off highway 8. Now you can enjoy this little family bar or as a pit-stop before driving up the hill to San Diego or down to Arizona. Our hours will be limited during the summer, but come desert season, our hours will be extended and we'll be open on all holidays. The Great Escape is WW2 theme family friendly restaurant and cocktail establishment. named after the true story and movie starring Steve McQueen. Our bar and bar back, circa 1942 was purchased from the the original Old Frontier Casino in Las Vegas during the 1990's. Elvis Presley had his first concert at the Old Frontier and the Supremes their last. The casino and bar/ bar back was was once owned by Howard Hughes in the 1960's. Imagine all the stars that once sat at this bar! Now, Ocotillo has a little piece of history in this small desert town.
Beer, beer to go & cocktails. Currently serving sandwiches & hot dogs. Will add more to our menu within the next couple of months.
