Founded in 1975, The Gooden School is an independent coeducational school that offers classes for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science, language arts, music, computer skills drams, social studies, foreign languages and physical education. The school conducts various community service programs for students to volunteer with local aid agencies and art groups at libraries and churches. The Gooden School is accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools, Western Association of Independent Schools and Commission on Schools in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. It is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the Educational Records Bureau. It additionally conducts before- and after-care programs. The school is located in Sierra Madre, Calif.
