History

I had been fixing up my parents' large and neglected property for over a decade, and providing advice to friends and acquaintances for several years. It started to turn into my career after I finished my two degrees in 2010. I spent a season with the county agriculture department, and then I decided to set out on my own and offer my services full-time, for a reasonable fee. I established my business as The Garden Fixer, then switched in 2015 to The Garden Detective to focus more on diagnosis and troubleshooting.

I was formerly doing business as The Garden Fixer. I am a trained plant biologist and plant pathologist with expertise in agriculture, Integrated Pest Management, and organic methods. I offer: - Plant disease diagnosis - Irrigation system, pond, and fountain troubleshooting - Soil health checks - Lawn troubleshooting - Advice on putting in vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and other edibles - Skilled pruning of both edible plants and ornamentals - Advice on long-term weed management I have a decade of experience in troubleshooting run-down yards and gardens; I'm also a true native of the east Bay Area, with its dry summers, microclimates, soil quirks, and common pests.
