History

Chef Zachary has been cooking in the fine dining since 2005, working primarily in catering. Since living in Santa Cruz, he has worked as the administrator for Bauman College of Nutrition, and was the chef for both the LionFish SupperClub, a fine ding caterer, as well as the restaurant Ulterior, an upscale bistro in downtown Santa Cruz that specialized in local, seasonal, organic and gluten free food. When the restaurant closed its door in June, Zachary set out to travel the world and educate himself on the cultures from whom we inherit or food and our food customs. Thus The Food Bender was born of a passion to pull from life the very essence of what makes us zen-out with delight when we take that ecstatic bite.

Chef Zachary Mazi is a private chef, specializing in Retreats and catering. His background includes Food Is Medicine certification, as well as knowledge of special diets, local food sourcing, and researching and promoting local customs and cultures whwrever The Food Bender travels.
