Owner and CEO Katie Clark was originally an academic historian, and left the academy in 2011 to pursue a career in the arts. Along the way, she discovered that fellow artists as well as those in traditional industries needed help communicating their values and unique stories to customers, and so The Applied Humanities was born (practically by accident)! The name reflects the company's desire to distill and apply the best lessons of the humanities - of art, history, literature, philosophy, and other humanist endeavors - to all pursuits. Great ideas are timeless!
