About Appetizer Restaurant Alfonso Artiano left the Island of Ischia (near Capri and Naples ) in 1955 to join his father in San Pedro. After working in restaurant business for several years, his dream of opening his own restaurant was realized in 1972 when he opened the first Appetizer on Deep Valley Drive and later in 1976 when he opened the second Appetizer in the Hughes market on Hawthorne Blvd.
