Established in 1922, Temple Beth El is a Jewish reform congregation that offers worship, prayer and fellowship services. It promotes spiritual involvement, interfaith inclusion and social interactive activities. The congregation has a social action committee that is responsible for the collection of food, clothing and toiletries. Temple Beth El also conducts several periodic gatherings at area coffee shops for informal conversations. It operates a sisterhood community that contributes to scholarships for rabbinic students. The congregation s sisterhood community represents more than 80,000 women worldwide, as well as provides funds and books to preschools in Israel. It is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and organizes several educational, cultural and musical programs for its members. Temple Beth El is located in San Pedro, Calif.
